The AMES Companies & the art of possible

The evolution of AMES continued apace at Glee 2023, where the business entered a new chapter under the banner of The AMES Companies, where the ‘art of possible’ inspired change, bought innovation to the fore and opened up new sales opportunities through cross-category ordering.

This new name has been put in place to better reflect the company’s development and how the focus is shifting to the portfolio of brands under the AMES banner. From heritage, tried and trusted brands such as Kelkay, La Hacienda and Apta to new introductions that are already positively disrupting the market, the future is bright for the AMES Companies.

But it wasn’t just a new name that caught the attention at Glee, nor the incredible stand which enjoyed the largest single footprint of any exhibitor. It was the launch of AMES Tools and the new Apta Lightweight collection that called for pause amongst visiting retailers.

Featuring both carbon (24 SKUs) and stainless-steel (26 SKUs) options, AMES Tools will no doubt become synonymous with not just incredible quality and breadth of range but it will demonstrate the ‘art of possible’ that comes from combining over 250 years of heritage and experience, with unrivalled passion for design and innovation and extensive market research.

Already a wide range of retailers have registered interest, with several committing to significant stock ahead of the 2024 season, whilst the AMES tools ambassador, David Domoney is poised to support sales with a range of marketing activities in the pipeline for 2024.

With Apta Lightweight, the team has taken a heritage brand and created a new chapter to create a product hierarchy that opens up container gardening to all consumer demographics. In doing so, Apta reaffirms itself as the go-to supplier for all things pots.

Boasting strong environmental credentials, the complete Apta Lightweight offering is constructed from recycled materials, and the pots will be fully recyclable at the end of their lifespan. Perfect for indoor and outdoor usage, every product will be frost and UV resistant.

Two collections have officially launched – Weben and Beton - both the result of significant market research undertaken by the AMES Companies to identify those trends which have mass consumer appeal.
