Unwins launches first-ever Houseplant Seed Collection
Stand 10C51-F50

Unwins Seeds, a trusted name in gardening since 1903, is proud to introduce its brand new Houseplant Seed Collection at Glee 2025.

This launch represents Unwins’ first ever houseplant category of seeds, responding to surging consumer interest in indoor gardening, and with shoppers spending £700m* on houseplants in 2023, the trend shows no sign of slowing.

The Unwins Houseplant Seed Collection is designed to appeal to a wide demographic, from experienced gardeners seeking new indoor challenges, to urban dwellers and first-time plant owners looking for easy, rewarding ways create a stunning indoor jungle.

Each seed variety has been selected for its striking appearance, resilience, and indoor suitability, all presented in eye-catching packets:

  • Asparagus Fern: Elegant and airy foliage perfect for bright, humid spots like kitchens and bathrooms
  • Mandarin Plant: Striking orange stems and air-purifying qualities make it both functional and fashionable
  • Zumula (Cat Grass): A safe, engaging choice for pet owners, with lush green blades that aid feline digestion
  • Dichondra ‘Silver Surfer’: A cascading beauty with silvery foliage, ideal for shelving and hanging displays
  • Hypoestes Pink Polka Dot: A colourful, compact option for brightening up smaller living spaces
  • Sempervivum (Succulents): Ultra-resilient and sculptural; ideal for sunny windowsills
  • Bird of Paradise: An exotic favourite with broad, paddle-shaped leaves and the occasional tropical blooms; perfect for statement displays.

Arty Speroni, Brand Manager, for Unwins, commented: “We’re seeing consumers increasingly seeking sustainable, wellness-enhancing hobbies, and the new Unwins Houseplant Seed Collection positions retailers at the forefront of an enduring indoor gardening trend. We’re thrilled to be launching these at GLEE this year, and look forward to seeing shoppers in the near future taking our new seeds home to grow their own indoor oasis.”

To support retailers, Unwins have also developed a convenient counter-top merchandising solution, that can be used to display the seeds in various locations that drive cross-category sales in-store. The seeds can also be displayed on Unwins propagation G.E.M.S stands, encouraging shoppers to purchase everything they need for successful germination, including Westland Seed Sowing Compost, a peat-free, moisture-retentive compost, and VisiRoot Cell Trays, which are made from recycled rPET material, and these transparent trays help users monitor root development and moisture with ease.

Visit Unwins in Hall 10, Stand C51-F50, to explore the full 2026 collection.
