‘Natural’ category expansion for Altico as they boost their Paving & Accessories range, whilst lowering RRPs

Following their theme to demonstrate enhanced commitment to Garden Centre retailers, Altico have expanded their Paving and Accessories range under The Stone Merchant brand for 2024, whilst focusing on price in the challenging market.

With a 40% increase in SKUs for next season, The Stone Merchant range of Paving, Stepping Stones and Edgings will see a boost across the mix, with 14 new introductions being added - Natural stone being a key area of focus to directly answer the needs of their growing customer base.

Commercial Director Richard Pyrah said: Our 2024 range is focused on the year-round sales drivers that matter most to Garden Centre Retailers. Since launching the category last year, we have collaborated with our customers to pin-point the next instalment of products that will add continued value. 70% of our range for next year is focused on Stepping Stones and Edgings, as experience continues to show us that these are the products driving volume in Garden Centres. They’re easy for consumers to ‘buy-in-to’ being keen on price, simple to transport home and they make an immediate different to the outdoor space.”

Further recognising the need to evolve in a diverse market, Altico has reviewed pricing across the Paving category, realigning and lowering prices wherever possible. What’s more, their interchangeable POS carrying multi-buy offers allows the retailer flexibility to sell products singularly, or pass greater savings on to consumers.

As a one-stop-shop supplier, Altico enables customers to mix their Paving and Accessory lines with Decorative Aggregates, Horticultural Grits & Sands and Building Products to achieve a low, 5-pallet minimum carriage paid order – all from one central Head Office location.

Alongside this flexible service, the business continues to be responsive to customer needs, upholding their convenient same-week delivery promise to allow retailers to manage their inventory with ease.
