Meadow View Stone your trusted sustainable supply partner

Meadow View Stone recognises the demand for more sustainability within our market sector. Fulfilling the need for new product development and innovation whilst not compromising our natural resources for future generations is a guiding principle for the company.

This year their exhibition stand at GLEE will be constructed from elements which are either recycled, reused or recyclable. The stand design utilises a high proportion of waste timber for the main constructive elements, with low voltage LED lighting throughout and the remaining design components either being redeployed or returned for future use/ sale.

Furthermore, the company also takes the following steps to ensure that all their merchandising and packaging is sustainable:

Point Of Sale
Meadow View Stone use a fully recyclable medium for all their Point-of-Sale support. This new medium is 100% recyclable and PVC Free. Its cell structure provides increased strength and rigidity, resulting in minimum breakage or damage.  It is lightweight and extremely durable meaning fewer broken boards/fewer replacements are required.  With a longer lifespan than conventional Correx, it makes it a much more sustainable alternative.

Stands
All timber utilised in the companies merchandising is sourced from an FSC - Forest Stewardship Council registered company and is fully tanalised to prolong its lifespan.

Bags
All polythene packaging, which includes bags, shrink wraps/covers and bulk bags, contain a minimum of 30% recycled content, saving approximately 112 tonnes of virgin plastic entering the waste stream in 2022. Their standard aggregate collection is fully recyclable at specialist recycling facilities and their new range of Potstars Outdoor Living, further improves on this by being able to be recycled at local supermarkets.

The companies 10-point sustainability pledge is as follows:

  1. The post-consumer waste from the various production sites, is recycled via accredited waste collection companies, operating with a zero to landfill strategy.
  2. The company has signed up to the GIMA Plastic Packaging Pledge.
  3. The company bulk ships a selection of UK sourced aggregates to its various production sites reducing the number of lorry movements on the UK roads by 1137 vehicles in the last two years.
  4. All products are ethically sourced from sustainable deposits, being operated within current legislative and ecological parameters.
  5. The company also supplies a collection of recycled or biproducts for relevant applications where possible, with:
15 recycled products available in large bags.
3 recycled products available in small bags.
2 recycled products available in pouch bags.
  6. The company’s production sites all operate with LED low voltage lighting.
  7. All the water used for the washing of their premium products is 100% recycled.
  8. The company’s administration processors are approx. 90% paperless.
  9. The business’ company car fleet is comprised of 2/3rds electric vehicles, with electric charging points installed for staff/customer and supplier use.
  10. The company continues to encourage customers to maximise load sizes to reduce/minimise the number of delivery vehicles thereby lowering the company’s carbon footprint
