The UK’s leading instore TV promotion company, Creative Products are celebrating 10 years of supplying fast moving products to garden centres across the UK. The Lincolnshire based company, previous winners of Best New Products award at Glee at Spring Fair with their innovative Fly Away product, are back with some great new offerings across bird care, pet, garden and lighting categories.

This year the company, who are one of the leading exhibitors at Glee at Spring Fair, will also have a second stand in the Cook and Dine section Hall 8 C70—D71, where they will be showcasing some of their new innovative cook and houseware products.

Creative will be teaming up with the well-known professional cookware demonstrator Malcolm Harradine, a Spring Fair veteran, who for 4 days will be demonstrating live Creative’s brand-new Safe cut Mandoline Slicer.  Mandoline slicers can be quite dangerous and daunting to use for the novice and amateur cook but the Safe Cut is specially designed so that there is no possibility for fingers to even come close to sharp blades.

Also look out for Creatives “Squidgy Thing” the innovative alternative to traditional washing up scourers and sponges. Retailing at £2.99 this environmentally friendly silicone cleaning pad, which can also be used as a trivet and heat shield, has racked up sales of over 500,000 units in just 6 months, with sales showing no signs of abating.

For those new to Creative’s In store TV concept, they supply much more than just their innovative creative products. The company offer a full merchandising service as well as free on loan custom made stylish displays stands incorporating sleek HD media screens which play the company’s in-store unique TV adverts designed to maximise your sales of our products. What’s more, when product sales start to slow, their merchandising teams change the product and film on the displays and take back and credit any unsold product. What’s not to like?

Creative’s directors Mark Hall and Richard Booker are firmly committed to supporting the garden centre retail industry. As we all know, garden centres have now become more dynamic retail environments with cook ware, houseware and gift all having an important place in the income streams of garden centres up and down the land.

What Creative do well, is to source and market the products that have mass market appeal. It’s often true that customers do not go into stores specifically looking for Creative Products, but what we are sure of is that the majority of customers will leave with one in a basket or trolley!

So please come and see us on the Glee at Spring Fair stand Hall 7 C50-D51 or the Cook and Dine stand Hall 8 Stand C70-D71. We can’t wait to see you!

Following on from a hugely successful Glee at Spring Fair in 2019, Charles Taylor Trading has doubled the size of its stand for the 2020 show. The February show has proved to be the highlight of the calendar year with the traditional garden furniture manufacturer continuing to show their support for Glee at Spring Fair for the third year running.

The larger footprint of the stand will give buyers the opportunity to view the company’s whole range and take advantage of exclusive ‘show only’ offers.

Visitors to Charles Taylor’s stand (7D60-E61, Hall 8) will be treated to a showcase of its finest furniture including dining sets, outdoor seating, garden planters and trellises, as well as its ‘Little Fella's’ range, designed exclusively for children.

All of the ranges can be complemented with soft furnishings including parasols, cushions and covers, which will also be able to view and order on stand.

As well as this, Charles Taylor will be promoting its new pressure treated range at the event for the first time, which Director, Richard Ball, is upbeat about.

He said: “The new fully boxed product has found a niche in the market with tremendous feedback already, so we are hopeful that our order books will be full once visiting retailers see the latest ranges.

"The range has also been specifically designed for the ever-increasing online business through our website and has opened new doors for export.

"We have taken on a third manufacturing plant to further enhance our position as the UKs leading garden furniture manufacturer and to increase our expanding offering to retail customers.”

Chirpy, a range of wild bird foods introduced three years ago by leading importers Csnon Garth, is targeting  garden centres who want to add a point of difference to their bird foods offering...

Although the brand name is not brand new, the packaging is. Originally launched in plastic pouches, the range of seven different mixes is now presented in recyclable paper-based packaging, with each mix colour coded to make choosing product easier and add an attractive eye-catching look to the in-store display.

The company stresses that its ingredients meet the highest premium quality standards and should not be confused with low-priced alternatives.

The range was extended and re-packaged in response to feedback from stockists, including garden centres.

Please note that product delivered in from 1 March will have the 10% online offer removed from the packaging.

As the third annual ‘Glee at Spring Fair’ gets ever closer, the show’s Event Director, Matthew Mein, provides an update on what the industry can expect, and why garden retailers should make the event a ‘must attend’ part of their spring 2020 plans.

Why Glee at Spring Fair – how does it differ to the September show?

Glee at Spring Fair was introduced in 2018 for one simple reason - Spring Fair is the UK’s number one Home and Gift Fair, with a 58,000 strong audience which is already engaged and ready and willing to do business. The exhibition already welcomes a strong garden centre contingent, with owners /operators, gift buyers and those with a primary and secondary interest in garden products, DIY and seasonal ranges out in force.

Glee at Spring Fair (2nd – 6th February, NEC Birmingham) will give retailers the opportunity to see new and best-selling ranges ahead of the spring season. This ‘second edition’ of Glee, taking place in the early pre-spring season, will give retailers an additional destination to refresh and make impulse buying decisions ahead of key retail spikes. It will also provide garden buyers with valuable insight into the latest concepts and trends for 2020, helping them to better direct their buying.

What can visitors expect to see within Glee at Spring Fair?

Glee at Spring Fair will be a concession that will deliver a selection of some of the best products from some of Glee’s core product sectors. Core gardening will remain at its heart, with key brands such as Charles Taylor Trading, Creative Products, Dizmes, Neat Ideas, Chirpy Bird Foods, Euromedia, Fargro, Riverco Trading, Logs Direct, Juice & Jam, and Laurica Plants showcasing their 2020 ranges.

The concession will retain Glee’s signature boulevard aisle and highly-recognisable branding throughout. A Glee Café, which will act as a hub for Glee’s supporting trade associations – The HTA, GIMA and Gardenex. Offering a wealth of knowledge and benefits, the presence of these trade associations will add some fun and interactive elements to the five-day event. GIMA will be once again be bringing its popular Buyer Connect event, helping those exhibiting to maximise their exposure to key garden retail buyers through special speed networking sessions, whilst international buyers will also be able to meet with enthusiastic suppliers within Gardenex’s own International Buyer Event.

A popular part of both the September show, and the 2020 Glee at Spring Fair event, the Glee New Product Showcase will be making its home within the Glee Café. This dedicated area will bring together the most exciting new products from Glee at Spring Fair exhibitors, and will provide a source of inspiration for retailers looking to find exciting new product innovations.

Who can exhibit?

Any brand from across the gardening spectrum can join Glee at Spring Fair. In 2019 we saw a wide showcase of products including garden decorations, ornaments, statuary and water features, to garden structures and outdoor entertaining. Garden care, where fashion and impulse-buy potential is at its highest, also proves to be a popular attraction for buyers looking to differentiate their retail space in such a competitive market.

Being a part of such a large show comes with lots of big opportunities, especially for Glee at Spring Fair exhibitors. Situated in a new location for 2020, Glee at Spring Fair will be found in Hall 7, straddling the Cook & Dine sector in Hall 8, and the Living, Accents & Décor, and Floral sector. This prime location will see the Glee concession becomes a natural walk through area for garden centre buyers, as well as those buyers from outside the garden retail sector who are looking for additional product ranges. This busy flow of visitors attracts strong cross over buying prospects for those who are a natural fit to Glee’s offerings.

Who should visit?

Any retailer who wants to maximise sales of garden products in the year ahead – especially those with a strong design focus – will not want to miss out on visiting Glee at Spring Fair.

Even more networking with the Spring Fair Match app

Glee at Spring Fair exhibitor and visitors to can make the most of their time at the show with the Spring Fair Match app. The app – much like Glee’s Connect app for the September show - takes the work out of networking through intelligent matchmaking and provides a higher return on your time. Visitors can plan their route around the show using the new interactive map feature, pre-book meetings with exhibitors and curate their very own show calendar.

Spring Fair is excited to announce the all-new Sustainability Trail that is coming to the 2020 show!

The trail will feature ethical and sustainable retail suppliers that are doing their part to reduce the damage the retail industry has on the environment.

Exhibitors that answer the questions around their initiatives on their profiles, pledging to be sustainable will feature on the trail, highlighted by a leaf icon. Four additional icons, that represent material, packaging, ethical, and environmental impact, will give a deeper insight into the areas they are working on.

To showcase the trail, the on-site books, and the interactive map on our Fair Match App, along with the website will all have a sustainable index highlighting who is taking part in the Sustainability Trail and what role sustainability takes in their company.

Every day at Spring Fair 2020 there will be various seminars and talks around sustainability and the retail industry. These will touch all of the key areas including sustainable sourcing, sustainability for independents, sustainable product design, and sustainable store design.

Key companies and people including Sedex and The Body Shop will give you a rundown of everything you need to know to make your business more sustainable. These seminars are not to be missed for any retailer looking to take their business into the future.

To make it easier than ever before to find the perfect products for your retail store Spring Fair is introducing Speed Networking to the 2020 show. It is the perfect opportunity for retailers to meet suppliers suited to their needs in a short period of time.

The Speed Networking sessions will connect buyers with over 20 suppliers that suit their product interest over an hour. It is running across three categories – Home, Gift, and Sourcing. It is the optimal way to discover suppliers you might not otherwise meet. After a pitch by multiple suppliers you will be able to compare with ease who you want to follow up with after.

To ensure you have an efficient session we pre-qualify the suppliers to fit product categories. Speed Networking is ideal for any retailers coming to Spring Fair 2020 that don’t want to miss anything, without the time to visit the 2500 exhibitors that will be at the show.

Everyone who takes part in the Speed Networking sessions will be automatically upgraded to a member of The Club Platinum or Club Gold. The Club is an elite platform that gives the members extra benefits at the show like access to a private lounge, free coffee, free cloak room and even free accommodation and travel in some cases.
