Pot-grown Christmas trees sales surge
While cut Christmas trees are still the best sellers, pot-grown trees saw strong sales growth last season, a Glee @ Spring Fair supplier said today.
FCPT (3E20) grow Christmas trees on their east coast nursery in Scotland and confirmed that Nordmanns were still the consumer's top choice. But they said pot-grown trees are growing in popularity with consumers looking for a living product that will not wilt or drop needles. Pot-grown trees are available in smaller pot sizes.
They also said sales of fresh trees in general are growing at the rate of 2-3% per year.
